Over 45,000 Aldi Pressure Cookers Recalled
Aldi has issued a nationwide recall of its Ambiano electric pressure cookers due to a serious safety issue. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), more than 45,000 units are being pulled from shelves after reports of burn injuries.
What Models Are Affected
The recall includes Ambiano 6-quart and 8-quart electric pressure cookers. The recalled models are:
- KY-318B / 93550
- KY-318A / 96775
- 6L-PC / 98527
These appliances were sold exclusively at Aldi stores nationwide between January 2016 and December 2019 for about $40.

Why the Recall Was Issued
The lids of the recalled cookers can be opened before steam pressure is fully released. This malfunction can cause hot food and liquid to be ejected, creating a serious burn hazard.
So far, Aldi and the CPSC have received 11 incident reports. Eight of these involved severe burn injuries.
What To Do if You Own One
If you have one of the recalled models, stop using it immediately. Customers can return the product to any Aldi store for a full refund.
If visiting a store isn’t possible, you can email Tempo, the recall administrator, at serviceusa@tempo.org. You will need to provide:
- A photo of the recalled cooker
- The unplugged power cord cut
- The model number and date code visible in the photo
